Rhonda is a retired micropaleontologist who spent over 40 years working in the Gulf’s oil industry, both onshore and offshore. A micropaleontologist is a specialized geologist who studies microscopic fossils, unlocking clues about Earth’s history. In the oil industry, these tiny fossils are critical for identifying rock layers underground and locating oil and gas reserves. While her career was focused at the microscopic level, Rhonda’s passion for fossils extends to the macro scale — making her an avid collector and enthusiast of the larger fossils that span the entire geologic time scale.
