IT'S NICE TO MEET YOU! I'M RHONDA

I come from a small family… or so I thought.

One trip to a Louisville, Kentucky cemetery changed everything. When I asked the clerk for Christian Roederer's gravesite, he looked up and said, "Which Christian Roederer?" In that moment, I knew I was onto something big.

I was born and raised in Lafayette, Louisiana, but now call Hickory, North Carolina home. I’m a retired biostratigrapher and passionate genealogist. A biostratigrapher is a paleontologist who identifies microfossils to reconstruct the past. Sound familiar? Genealogy works the same way: dedication to preservation, obsession with tiny details, and gathering evidence to solve mysteries and bring the past to life.

Genealogy isn't about cataloging names and dates. It's about getting to know your ancestors — especially the colorful ones.

I've reunited adoptees with birth families, uncovered war heroes, traced immigrant ancestors across the ocean, and connected with hundreds of distant cousins... some of these connections have been life-changing. Each discovery is part history lesson, part personal journey, and entirely transformative.

Your story is out there. Let's uncover it together!
